I've taken a few days off from writing about fantasy football. I thought about doing an article Saturday. I'd been pouring over statistics, match ups, and injury reports until I couldn't do it anymore. I felt good about my line ups. It was the quiet before the storm. I didn't think I needed to write anything. I just wanted to have everything play out.
For the most part, things went well. I won two of three leagues. I finally won in the big money league (YES). I was getting worried. I won by a decent amount. I was feeling pretty good about things going in to Monday as I was running Drew Brees already ahead in points. My opponent had Tevin Coleman and Brandin Cooks. Coleman scored 28.4 points. That is ridiculous. I'm glad Cooks didn't show up.
I won my work league easily beating the resident trash talker, Sonny, by like 44 points. I am now 3-0 in that league. I'm tied for the most points scored out of all 8 teams.
In the last league I took a hard loss to a guy who has an atrocious team. He was 0-2 and I'm sure this is the one week his team is going to blow up. He had Emmanuel Sanders (2 TDs) and Marvin Jones (2 TDS) together they scored 70 of his points. Last night I was running Brees, Julio freaking Jones (against the Saints!) and Jacob Tamme. Someone was going to have a big night, right? I was playing against Devonta and Cooks. Well someone did have a big night, but it wasn't Julio. Why did that guy even show up for the game? Devonta had a great game. 31 points in that league. I got a total of 7 points between Tamme and my first pick Julio Jones. I almost want to unload the guy I am so disappointed. I lost by 33 points after leading all of Sunday. Unbelievable.
Some interesting facts of that league. It is a single division 10 team league. I am in 5th place with a record of 1-2. I have the second highest points scored out of all 10 teams. I have the second most points scored against me as well. Crazy how that works.
